I'm taking part in the Oxford half marathon for Thames Valley Air Ambulance!
Their crews are there for people when they need them the most. TVAA are not government or lottery funded, and rely on the generosity of the community, like you, to provide the best critical care at the scene and beyond.
I’ve chosen to support them while taking on a personal challenge of my own — going from very little running experience to completing a half marathon.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance provides emergency critical care across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. Their doctors, paramedics, and pilots respond to serious incidents including road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, and other life-threatening emergencies.
- They are called out around 9 times a day
- A helicopter mission costs approximately £3,950 to launch
- They receive no regular government or lottery funding
Everything they do is made possible by donations from the public.
Your donation helps fund:
- Emergency helicopter and rapid response vehicle missions
- Specialist critical care doctors and paramedics
- Life-saving medical equipment and supplies
- Training to ensure crews can deliver advanced care at the roadside
Thank you for any support or donation you are able to give.

The Journey Begins...
Tuesday 5th MayI’ve recently signed up to take part in the Oxford Half Marathon 2026 in support of Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
At the moment, I’m not a regular runner at all! In fact, I’m starting from very little running experience. The goal is simple but ambitious: to go from a complete beginner to finishing a half marathon (13.1 miles) in just a few months of training.
It feels like a big step, but that’s exactly why I wanted to do it.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance is an emergency service that provides critical care across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. Their doctors, paramedics, and pilots respond to serious incidents such as road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, and other life-threatening emergencies. They bring advanced medical care directly to the scene when every second counts.
What makes their work even more important is how they are funded. They are not supported by government or lottery funding, which means everything they do is made possible by donations from the public. Every mission they attend, every piece of equipment they use, and every life they help depends on that support.
That’s what makes this challenge feel worthwhile.
This is the beginning of the journey — both the training and the fundraising — and I’m looking forward to seeing how far I can go.
If you’d like to support me, any donation would be hugely appreciated and will go directly towards helping Thames Valley Air Ambulance continue their life-saving work.
Thank you for being part of it.
