I'm taking on 40 miles in March!
Seven years ago I brought my paragliding career to an abrupt end by running out of talent at Combe Gobbet. I feel 50 feet breaking my sternum, back in nine places and seven ribs. The impact also drove my lower right leg through my knee. My fellow pilots called 999 who sent the wonderful Thames Valley Air Ambulance to care for me and take me to hospital.
40 miles matches the average distance that the Thames Valley Air Ambulance helicopter flies to reach an emergency. The challenge is to walk my way to 40 miles, while helping Thames Valley Air Ambulance crews be there for people when they need them the most. TVAA are not government or lottery funded, and rely on the generosity of the community, like you, to provide the best critical care at the scene and beyond. Thank you for your support!
